Event Date: April 13, 2019
The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority (Authority) has launched a new website design to help users access recycling and solid waste information in a quick and efficient manner.
This website is dedicated to providing accurate information about all Authority facilities, including our Recycling Center, Transfer Stations, Green Waste Composting Site, Solar Panel Array, Regional Landfill, and the Utica and Rome EcoDrops.
The website also highlights the Authority’s curbside & drop-off recycling services, as well these special programs:
- Household Hazardous Waste Disposal
- RecycleOne Business Certification
- School Recycling & ‘Green Teams’
- Electronics Recycling
- Composting
Not sure if an item you have is recyclable?
Today, the list of acceptable material is longer than ever. However, not everything can be recycled in your curbside bin. “Just because a package or container claims it is recyclable, that does not mean that your local recycling center can actually process and recover that item. It can be confusing for consumers to sift through conflicting information. In an effort to provide clear, accurate information on all things recyclable, the Authority recreated its “AmIRecyclable?” mobile app and launched an “AmIRecyclable?” quick finder on the new website,” says Jamie Tuttle, Authority Recycling Educator.
Use the convenient ‘AmIRecyclable?’ tool to search hundreds of items to learn how to properly recycle or dispose of them.
Need to find a waste hauler?
The new website allows residents to type their zip code into the ‘Find A Hauler’ tool in order to provide them with local waste haulers that service the area.
Would you like specific solid waste and recycling collection information for your municipality?
The website not only includes a list of brochures tailored to specific municipal solid waste and recycling programs, but it also allows residents to search City, Town and Village facilities near them.
Want general information on local solid waste disposal?
The Authority website provides resources to educate residents on recycling, as well as announcements directly related to the Authority, its services, staff and partnerships within the community.
