The Utica and Rome EcoDrop locations accept hand tools, electric and gas-powered tools year-round for recycling!

Items like:

  • Wrenches
  • Shovels
  • Electric hedge trimmers
  • Lawn mowers
  • and more are all accepted as scrap metal for recycling at our facilities – free of charge!

If your items are still in good condition, consider donating them to someone in need or to Second Chance Tools.

Please DO NOT place hand or yard tools in your curbside recycling bin! These items are drop-off only, and placing bulky metal tools in your curbside recycling bin can cause mechanical issues at the recycling center and pose a safety hazard.

Don’t be a “Wish-Cycler” by placing items in your curbside recycling bin with the hope that they will be recovered - always check ohswa.org for a list of acceptable curbside recycling items and which items must be dropped off at our facilities for recycling!
